It's been decided, folks. After my whirlwind travel adventures, this girl and her little dragon are getting out of the land of oranges, theme parks, and beaches, and heading to the city too busy to hate. The goal is to be there by March 1st when spring is just around the corner. There's something incredibly symbolic about moving away from a place that was comfortable and "safe" for me at a time of year when life is beginning to sprout up. I've always loved the spring. It's always beautiful that time of year. The air feels crisper. Life feels renewed. It's the perfect time and the fresh start that I want. The fresh start I need.
Georgia, one state north of Florida. Not so far, but just far enough. Atlanta, an actual "city" with life. Southern hospitality mixed with a little bit of northern cosmopolitan. Beautiful parks. A pleasant place. Food trucks! The Goat Farm. Four distinct seasons. The Earl. Sweet tea and barbecue. Gone With The Wind. West Egg. So much history. And so much more.
A stepping stone in the right direction, an upward direction, a forward direction. It is new, different, and scary at the same time. But the newness, the differences, and the scary parts are what make it right. These are things I will have to meet head-on and know they will be challenges. That's part of the fun, though, isn't it?
And now the countdown begins. Adventures abound.
